Board of Operators

2023–2024

The HCO Board of Operators is responsible for selecting the annual opera, choosing directors and producers, planning an annual season, organizing programmed events, creating a welcoming artistic community, and generating enthusiasm on campus for the organization and for the art of opera. The Board also supports HCO’s aim of platforming independent artistic initiatives in the wider campus community by broadening access to resources and opportunities for training and shadowing, serving as a platform for centralizing and disseminating information, and maintaining a close network of relationships with other music, tech, theater, and performing arts groups on campus.

Our Executive Board (President, Vice Presidents, and Treasurer) is responsible for the overall direction of the Company and for overseeing the open interview and selection process to decide a new Board of Operators each February/March. At the top, the Presidents oversee the bulk of HCO’s plans, operations, and functioning — including non-artistic events, recruitment, HCO Projects, and HCO YOU and HCO Alumni platforms — and the Artistic Director oversees the creative side of HCO’s season — our programmed recitals, guest artist events, opera shortlist process, ARTS FIRST concert, and so on.
