Alexander Chen

 
 

Alex Chen (‘22) is a baritone at Harvard College studying Computer Science with Maths, and hailing originally from London. Serving as one of the Co-Presidents of HCO and Co-Stage Director, he is delighted to be singing the role of Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro. Previous HCO roles include Pandolfe (Cendrillon: HCO 2019) and Speaker of the Temple (Die Zauberflote: HCO 2020). Other recent opera engagements include Guglielmo (Cosi Fan Tutte: LHO 2019), Anthony (Sweeney Todd: LHO 2020), Blazes Boylan (NIGHTTOWN: LHO 2022), and Uberto (La Serva Padrona). Alex studied voice with Andrew Kennedy in London and is currently a student of Frank Kelley at Harvard, where he is also a Ferris Fellow of the Harvard University Choir. Alex will be moving to San Francisco after he graduates in 2022, where he hopes to continue his singing career while working as a Software Engineer. Outside of singing, Alex enjoys playing soccer, fake laughing, and pretending to be Eddie Redmayne.
